Where do I start?
- Empty out the Trash 🗑 and your Downloads folder 📁 both are quick wins!
- Move items on your Desktop such as documents or files to your company server or cloud drive, where they are backed up securely. This will also help clear space.
- Click the Apple icon > About this Mac > Storage > Click Manage Storage. Please send us a screenshot of the storage report results so we can give you more detailed guidance on next steps.
Why is this important?
- Your Mac is over 90% full and is in the danger of grinding to halt and becoming unusable.
- It is not just about running out of space, it is important to ensure your company data is protected. Your work files should to be saved and stored in the appropriate location, where they are backed up daily!
- As it fills up your Mac will begin to have problems. It can become sluggish & unstable and your apps may not be able to launch or work properly.
