Mac Enrolment Guide

Welcome aboard! 🎉

As part of your IT setup, we need to enrol your Mac into our device management system. This helps us keep your device secure and ensures you receive the applications, settings and updates you need.

The process takes about 15 minutes. Simply follow the steps below.

Before You Start

You will need:

  • The enrolment link provided in your homework email
  • Either 
    • The enrolment username and password provided in your homework email
    • Or the Administrator credentials for your Mac
      • If you do not know your administrator credentials, temporary admin credentials have been provided in your homework email.

Step 1: Open Safari  

  1. Open Safari from your Dock (the row of icons at the bottom of your screen). 

    Alternatively:

    • Open Applications
    • Select Safari

Step 2: Open the Enrolment Portal

  1. In Safari, enter the enrolment link provided in your welcome email.
  2. When the login screen appears, enter the enrolment username and password supplied in your homework email.
  3. If prompted to save the password, click Not Now.

Step 3: Start Device Enrolment

  1. You may be asked to assign the device to a user.
  2. Do not enter any information in this field.
  3. Click Enrol.
  4. Click Continue.

The enrolment profile will now download to your Mac.

Step 4: Install the Enrolment Profile

  1. Open System Settings.
  2. In the search bar, type Profile.
  3. Select Profiles from the search results.
  4. Locate MDM Profile.
  5. Double-click MDM Profile.
  6. Click Install.
  7. When prompted with "Are you sure?", click Install again.

Step 5: Enter Administrator Credentials

  1. You will be prompted to enter administrator credentials.
  2. If you know your Mac administrator username and password, enter them.
  3. If you do not know them, use the temporary administrator credentials provided in your homework email.

Step 6: Allow the Enrolment to Complete

  1. Once the profile has been installed, the device will begin downloading company settings and policies.
  2. Leave your Mac connected to the internet.
  3. Allow approximately 5 minutes for the process to complete.

When finished, you should see approximately five profiles listed in the Profiles section.

 

Enrolment Complete

✅ Your Mac has now been successfully enrolled in the device management system.
